What Is The Open Circle?
The Open Circle is a Thursday night study group dedicated to deep, thoughtful engagement with Unitarian Universalist spirituality, theology, history, philosophy, and science. In the spirit of Unitarian Universalism’s commitment to lifelong learning, we gather in an open, welcoming space to explore the traditions, ideas, and discoveries that shape our faith and world.

What We Explore
Each session of The Open Circle is designed to foster conversation, reflection, and connection. Our topics include:
- 🌱 UU Spirituality & Theology – How do our principles guide our understanding of the sacred?
- 🏛 History & Tradition – What stories and movements have shaped Unitarian Universalism?
- 🤔 Philosophy & Ethics – How do UU values intersect with today’s moral dilemmas?
- 🧬 Science & Reason – How does scientific discovery inform our search for truth and meaning?
- 🕊 Interfaith & World Religions – How do UU beliefs engage with other spiritual traditions?
How It Works
- 🔎 Weekly Focus – Each week, we dive into a new topic or question, using readings, guest speakers, or interactive discussions to guide our time together.
- 💬 Open Dialogue – We encourage curiosity and deep listening, with respect for diverse perspectives.
- 🌐 Flexible Participation – Participants can drop in as they’re able or commit to ongoing engagement.
Who Is The Open Circle For?
- 🌿 Longtime UUs looking to deepen their faith and knowledge.
- 🏠 Curious Newcomers that are curious about UUism and its intellectual and spiritual traditions.
- 🙌 Anyone seeking a thoughtful, open-minded community for discussion and reflection.
