Interweave Book Club’s August Meeting
TAKING WOODSTOCK by Eliot Tiber
Our August 2022 book club selection will be the memoir TAKING WOODSTOCK by Eliot Tiber. The book relates the story of a concert, a riot, New York state thruway road closures, and coming of age in the summer of Woodstock and Stonewall.
An awkward, lost, young retail window designer / roofer working at his parents Catskills motel during the summer of 1969 inadvertently sets in motion actions that result in a generation – defining concert, local push back, anti-Semitism, drag queens, and road closures in upstate New York while he’s living a secret life in Manhattan. Will Richie Havens, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, or Tennessee Williams make an appearance? Read
the novel with us and find out. We’ll discuss TAKING WOODSTOCK by Eliot Tiber on Tuesday evening August 23 rd at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
