REAL LIFE by Brandon Taylor
Fourth Universalist’s POC Affinity Committee and Interweave will cohost the January 2023 book club Zoom chat about Brandon Taylor’s debut novel REAL LIFE. The novel is a partly autobiographical look at the experiences of a graduate student scientist at a midwestern American University. Set over a long summer’s weekend in a university town in the US Midwest, Brandon Taylor ’s crisply narrated first novel relates the blind (and not so blind) prejudice endured by its class-crossing, black protagonist, Wallace, a chubby gay postgraduate biochemist raised in the deep south. Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening January 31st via Zoom for a lively discussion about REAL LIFE.
