Cut From The Bible
Female and Queer Characters in Early Gnostic and Christian Texts
New Date! –> Thursday, May 25th at 7pm on Zoom
.
Join the Fourth Universalist Society for the second of two zoom workshops examining early Christian and gnostic texts, to help us think about about the ways in which female and queer roles were not always limited to heteronormative standards in early Christianity. We will discuss a 2nd century C.E. text not included in the Bible that feature women who defy the gender expectations of their time to attain authority, independence, and fulfill their true spiritual calling. No need to have attended the first workshop in order to jump in and join us on the second class!
