Welcome to Upper Elementary Religious Education at Fourth Universalist!

Below are some helpful details about what to expect on Sunday mornings if you have children in grades 3-6.  Our Upper Elementary class is led by their Lead Teacher, Eric Halperin. For more in-depth information about the nature and goals of our program, as well as our philosophy of religious education, check out our overview page here. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions (we are available by email at re@4thu.org). We hope to see you soon!

Upper Elementary – “Passport to Spirituality is for students grades 3-6:

  • In Passport to Spirituality, our young people in Grades 3-6 can join Lead Teacher Eric Halperin in a class that examines spiritual practices and cultural expressions in an interreligious exploration that gives the young people tools to establish their own visions of meaning, community, and spirituality.

  • We use a specially designed tabletop role-playing game to explore concepts in our class.

  • Our Upper Elementary and Youth Group students often have the opportunity to interact and learn together.
  • Please sign in your student(s) and make sure they get a name tag at the Religious Education Table near the entrance before the service begins.

  • Early in the service, students are invited to participate during A Time for All Ages, and then they are sung out and led to their respective Religious Education classrooms.

  • After the service, at around 12:10, we ask that parents come down to the classrooms and observe social distancing while picking up their children. Please make sure to sign out your students.

  • You may drop your students off for Guided Play in the Gym from 12:45-1:30 PM if you wish. Again, please sign your student in and out.
