On Sunday, July 9th, Rev. Shari Halliday-Quan and Rev. Rachel Hayes were ordained as ministers by the Fourth Universalist Society. This event was joyfully attended by 185 people: family, friends, religious professionals of many callings, Fourth Universalist members, and members of other local Unitarian Universalist congregations.
Shari Halliday-Quan became a member of Fourth Universalist in 2012 and graduated from Union Theological Seminary in 2018. Rachel Hayes joined Fourth Universalist in 2013 and graduated from Union Theological Seminary in 2017.
This spring, Shari was called to be the Senior Minister at First Unitarian in Rochester, New York, and Rachel was called to be the Senior Minister at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Amherst. Representatives from both congregations traveled to NYC to participate in the service.
Shari and Rachel thank the Fourth Universalist community for being a wonderful, nurturing spiritual home, for ordaining them, and for their beautiful purple stoles!
