Interweave’s October 2018 book club selection is a true crime non-fiction novel based on the events leading up to a major member of the British Parliament being tried for murder. Join us for a lively discussion about John Preston’s A Very English Scandal. We’ll meet after coffee hour to discuss the book and the political uproar surrounding a former Parliamentary party leader Jeremy Thorpe. He was a party leader once talked about as a possible Prime Minister of Great Britain. The real-life British political scandal shook up Parliament in the 1960s. It involves the party leader being tried for attempted murder of his former lover while considering a campaign to be elected Prime Minister of Great Britain.
