|Dear Neighbors,The rise in hate crimes across the city, and within our community, is deeply alarming. These attacks require us to unite together against bigotry and prejudice. This Thursday evening, please join me, along with Council Members Mark Levine and Bill Perkins, and Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr., for an important community discussion on how to respond to hate crimes.
We will address local incidents and concerns, discuss the legal definition of a hate crime, learn how to report a crime as a victim or witness, and review services and resources that are available to our community.
Our forum will be this Thursday, March 23 at 6:30pm at West Side High School, 140 West 102nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. Please note that Spanish language translation will be available.
This location is wheelchair accessible. For other accessibility requests, contact our district office at 212-873-0282. Please see the flyer for more information and RSVP here.
We hope to see you Thursday.
